State Government buys GMH site

The state government has purchased the 37.7 hectare General Motors Holden (GMH) site at Fishermans Bend, paving the way for plans to develop a leading design and engineering precinct.

Local member Martin Foley said that “this announcement is a real game changer for the future planning of Fishermans Bend. High skilled knowledge jobs driving the jobs of the future will be central to the precinct.”

The site was sold for $130m.
